Solution overviews

LaboFlex is a versatile automated platform designed to support laboratories in sample preparation tasks that require liquid dispensing, salt mixtures, and agitation.

Thanks to the built-in PC, switching between different preparation methods is fast and seamless, allowing easy adaptation to changing analytical needs.

The workstation automates the entire preparation workflow using a 6-axis robotic arm, including:

  • Automatic opening and closing of Falcon tubes
  • Addition of various solvents and/or aqueous solutions (acidic or neutral)
  • Dispensing of Quechers mixes or other salt mixtures
  • Agitation via a vertically-mounted shaker entirely developed in-house

LaboFlex can handle both single samples and batch processing, maximizing the use of available platform space. The high-performance shaker ensures proper homogenization, even with challenging matrices, avoiding phase separation within the tubes.

LaboFlex can process 8 samples simultaneously, thanks to overlapping of preparation steps during agitation. This significantly reduces total processing time and ensures uninterrupted batch workflows.

Users can apply multiple preparation methods on the same platform, with the ability to add, modify, or remove preparation steps with a single click.

High Reproducibility

Liquid and powder dispensers are calibrated and verified, ensuring consistent and reproducible results.

Compact and Safe Design

  • Compact structure fits through standard laboratory doors
  • Floor-standing installation with no need for special infrastructure
  • Safety doors with alarm sensors automatically halt operations if opened during a cycle
  • Equipped with a port for connection to lab ventilation systems, fully complying with workplace safety guidelines

Expandability

LaboFlex can be expanded with optional modules, such as an automated centrifuge, to further enhance the system’s capabilities.
